Nicole Vaidisova was born on April 23, 1989 in Nurnberg, Germany. She is a young tennis player who proved she can face great champions and can be a winner.

Biography and Career :

At the age of 14, she reached three finals and won the ITF/Plzen-CZE tournament, and won a cash prize worth ten thousand dollars. In 2004, she became the 6th youngest singes champion when she won in the finals of Vancouver open. She won her 2nd title at Tashkent.

As the youngest played, she was seeded 74 by WTA in October 2004. Then, she beat 29th seed Tatiana Golovin in the Japanese Open quarterfinals. But she lost to Klara Koukalova. She made her Grand Slam debut at the US Open but didn’t have a great start. She lost to 1st seed Justine Henin-Herdenne.

She got her first Grand Slam victories at the Australian Open in January, 2005. That year, she reached Tier I quarterfinals in Charleston and Tier III in Istanbul and reached the fourth round at US open that year.
In 2005, she won the first title of the year at Seoul and the second at the Japan Open in Tokyo and the third at Bangkok. Around October she had become the 17th seed.

In 2006, she reached the semifinals in Frech Open. She got her 6th WTA title in Strasbourg. In late 2006, she made it to Tier I semifinal in San Diego. With this her ranking reached no. 9.

In 2007, she reached the semis at Sydney’s Medibank International and also reached the semifinals of the Grand Slam event of the Australian Open. She had made it to the quarterfinals at the French Open that year.

She succumbed to a wrist injury and wasn’t able to play in a large part of the European clay court season. When she returned, she made it only to the third round at the US Open 2007 and reached the quarterfinals at the Kremlin Cup, Moscow. By 2007, she had earned over 2 million dollars in prizes.

In 2008, she had managed to get through to the semifinals in Sydney.
