
Nicolae Manolescu was born on November 27, 1939 in Ramnicu Valcea. He is a famous Romanian academician, literary critic, editorialist, literary historic and a politician.
Biography and Career :
He finished high-school in 1956 in Sibiu and in 1962 The Faculty of Philology in Bucharest. In 1974 he becomes doctor in letters with "Titu Maiorescu's work " thesis at The University in Bucharest.
From 1990 he teaches Romanian Literature at The Faculty of Philology in Bucharest. In the same year he becomes director and editorialist at the "Literary Romania" magazine.
In 2005 Nicolae Manolescu becomes president of The Romanian Writers Union and in 2006 he is named UNESCO's Romanian Ambassador.
