Morris Louis (1912-1962) was an American abstract painter.
Short Biography:
From Abstract Expressionism he turned to the colour-staining technique developed by Helen Frankenthaler, using thinned-out acrylic paints poured on rough canvas to create the illusion of vaporous layers of colour. The Veil paintings of the 1950s are examples.
