Marius Constantin (full name Marius Marcel Constantin) was born on October 25, 1984 in Brasov, Romania. He is a famuos Romanian football player.
Biography and Career :
He started playing football while he was very young and between 1996-2002 he played for teams like Postavarul Brasov (1996-1997), Amco Ghimbav (1997-1999), FC Ghimbav (1999-2000), FC Brasov(2000-2004).
Constantin debuted in A Division (First Romanian League) on the 8th of March 2003 in a game against FC Arges Pitesti which his team won it with 2-0.
In the first season for FC Brasov, he played in 13 games and succeeded to score once.
In the next season he played in more games, 19, but didn't score any goal. Although he was very young he was remarked by the top teams in Romanian championship and finally was
transferred to Rapid Bucharest.
In the first season for Rapid he played in 19 games and didn't score. In the next season he became a titular player and played in most of his team's games, 26. His best performances at Rapid were the vice-champion title in the season 2005-2006 and the Romanian Cup winning in the same season.
In the European Cups he played with Rapid Bucharest in UEFA Cup in the season 2005-2006 and had the best season in their history. They succeeded to qualify in the groups phase after they eliminated Feyernoord Rotterdam. In a group with Shakhtar Donetsk, PAOK Salonic, Rennes and VfB Stuttgart they obtained 3 victories and they lost one match against VfB Stuttgart. In the next round they eliminated Hertha Berlin and after this another German team, Hamburg SV. In the quarters final they were eliminated by Steaua Bucharest, their great Romanian rival after two equal games.
In the season 2006-2007 they succeeded to qualify again in UEFA Groups in a group with Hapoel Tel Aviv, Paris Saint-Germain, Mlada Boleslav and Panathinaikos Athens.
He played only one game for the Romanian national team, on the 27th of May 2004 in a game against Eire, which was lost with 1-0.
