Lorena Jones Layson Danker Mayer Nidorf b.1907 d. ca 1985. A Warner Brothers contract player in 1930s, Married Daniel J. Danker Jr., head of the J. Walter Thompson Agency in Hollywood. Danny Danker was a legend in advertising and radio production. He was known as the mayor of Hollywood because of his friendships with Hollywood luminaries. When Danker died in 1944 of a heart attack, she became a Thompson executive and was the first woman to have lunch in the executive restaurant at Thompson Headquarters. Lorena married Louis B. Mayer, head of MGM in 1948. Probably due to her good friend Louella Parsons, The Los Angeles Examiner front page headline was "Lorena Danker marries Louis B. Mayer". Mayer died in 1957 of leukemia. Lorena married Michael Nidorf in the early1960's, Mike was a successf ul show business agent and manager, a director of Capitol records, and had been President of EMI's television distribution in the US. Nidorf died ca 1984 of complications of arthritis. Lorena was a good friend to many prominent people and a loyal and good friend to all those she knew along the way. She always worked to smooth out the strains in relationships among her family and friends. She experienced the radio, TV, and motion picture business like few others have done. Her own life was a series of ups and downs and felt that the only thing you could count on was change. Lorena and Danny had one child Suzanne, who was adopted by Mayer. Mayer and his first wife Margaret had two daughters, Irene Selznick and Edith Goetz. They were about the same age as Lorena. Lorena died of cancer. Suzanne died ca 2003.
