
The band named Korn often written stylishly using the design “KoЯn” comes as an Nu Metal band from the USA. They came together in the Bakersfield, California, in the year 1993.
Career:
The current band consists of the four members: Jonathan Davis, James "Munky" Shaffer, Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu, and Ray Luzier. Jonathan is known to have described the band's genre as something like 'dark spooky grunge,' and openly dislikes the term Numetal. The band was basically an expansion of the group named as L.A.P.D. They have worked with musicians like Chino Moreno from Deftones, Ice Cube, Marilyn Manson, Fred Durst from Limp Bizkit, Tre Hardson from The Pharcyde and Nas among others.
Korn released their first demo album, Neidermeyer's Mind the same year they formed. The al
bum had two ex-members of the group L.A.P.D, Brian "Head" Welch and David Silveria. Their actual debut album, Korn came out in 1994. They featured the same group of dudes that featured in the album Neidermeyer's Mind.
The band started recording their next album called “Life Is Peachy” in April 1996, and came out with it in October 15, 1996. The album called “Follow the Leader” is widely known to be as Korn's big breakthrough, topping at number one on the Billboard 200 in the year 1998. It came along with the next album called “Issues” in the year 1999. The band came out with the album “Untouchables” on June 11, 2002, and “Take a Look in the Mirror” later on November 21, 2003, both topping the top ten of the Billboard 200. Their maiden compilation album called Greatest Hits Vol. 1, topped at number four on the Billboard 200. The subsequent album “See You on the Other Side” was released on December 6, 2005 followed by their untitled album that was released nearly two years later on July 31, 2007.
Till date, the band has generated over 20 million albums in the USA alone, and a combined total of 38 million albums worldwide as of 2009. Ten of the band's official releases have peaked in the top ten of the Billboard 200, and eight of which have peaked in the top five of the Billboard 200.
