Kid Sister (real name Melissa Young) was born on July 22, 1980, in Markham, Illinois. She is a major in film from Columbia College, Chicago.

Biography and Career:

She had always been interested in the entertainment industry. But her degree wasn't enough for her living. So she worked at reggae bars and children clothing stores. But with this level of income, she was barely able to sustain.

Finally, in 2005, she got some attention when she started rapping at her brother's dance parties. Her brother, Josh Young is part of the Chicago twosome Flosstradamus. She proved herself a natural in this art and was soon spotted by Grammy-winner Kanye West. Kayne wanted to remix her single "Pro Nails". The resulting track climbed to #21 in US singles charts.

With the publicity Kid Sist er received with the single, she was signed with Downtown Records and released her debut album "Koko B. Ware" in July, 2008.
