Jason Bateman was born on January 14, 1969, in Rye, New York. His sister acted in a prominent role in the 1980’s TV series Family Ties. Kent Bateman, his father directed movies and TV shows.

In 1981, he got his first major role in the show Little House on the Prairie and then played the role of Rick Schroeder on the show Silver Spoons till 1984. He appeared in a number of unrecognized roles during this time, including a short role in Knight Rider. Jason Bateman also did a 10 episode stint on the show, It’s Your Move.

He made a number of guest appearances until his first movie Teen Wolf Too (1987). In 1986, he landed a prominent role for the TV series Valerie and gave direction to 3 episodes on the show. He was only 18 at that time. The show was later renamed as The Hogan Family and David Hogan worked in the show till 1991.

After this, Jason Bateman appeared in a number of flop shows and appeared in small roles shows like Simon, “Ned and Stacey” and Some of My Best Friends.

He came back to movies with The Sweetest Thing (2002) and married Amanda Anka in 2003. Shortly after, he earned a Golden Globe for his lead role in the series Arrested Development.
Jason Bateman landed small roles in movies like Knocked Up (2006), Smokin Aces and Fast Track. His movies in 2007 included The Kingdom and Juno. In 2008, he was seen in the movies Hancock and Forgetting Sarah Marshall.
