Indigo Girls is a folk band formed of two women in 1985.
Biography and Career :
The members of the band are Amy Ray, who is a vocalist, guitarist, plays the mandolin and harmonica and Emily Saliers who is vocalist, guitarist and plays the mandolin, ukulele. The genre the girls are singing is folk rock.
Between 1987 and 2005 they had a contract with Epic Records and the signed with Hollywood Records. In 1987 the band released the first album called "Stage Fire" and since then released another fourteen live albums, compilations or studio albums.
Some of their most famous singles are "Closer to Fine", "Closer to Fine", "Galileo", "Least Complicated", "Shame on You", "Peace Tonight" or "Dear Mr. President" with Pink.
The girls confirmed they are lesbians, but didn't form
a couple. Amy has also released three albums as a solo artist: Stag, Prom and Live From Knoxville. Emily is also planning to release a solo album.
They are very popular and famous and have won a large amount of money from music. The band is successful all over the world, especially in the United Kingdom and United States.
