Igor Kunitsyn was born on September 30, 1981 in Vladivostok, Russia. He is a professional tennis player.

Biography and Career :

He started playing tennis at the age of seven. Later, in 1999, he became a professional player. Vitaly Gorin, his coach, is the person who helps him with the training. Konstantin and Mary are his parents. In his free time he likes playing basketball and goes fishing.

Until now (2007) he hasn't won any single or doubles ATP tournaments. The amount of money earned just from tennis is almost one million dollars. On March 5, 2007 he was ranked on the 78th position in Top 100, which is the highest he has ever achieved.

At the tournaments in Adelaide and Indianapolis in 2007 he participated and reached the quarter-finals, but was then eliminated. In 2 007 at the Challenger in Waikoloa he was also a quarter-finalist.

As a doubles player he played in the final of the tournament in Newport along Healey and in the semi-finals of the tournament in Memphis along Becker. He had a great match at the Tennis Channel Open's when he faced Marat Safin. They had an impressive fight and finally Safin was victorious but Igor had done one of his best matches even if he lost.

He is a talented and still young player and his career is just at the beginning. If he will suffer no injuries and can continue training he has many chances to win many titles and important matches.
