Idina Menzel (full name Idina Kim Mentzel) was born on May 30, 1971 in Syosset, New York, USA. She is an actress, songwriter and singer.

Biography and Career :

She studied at the Syosset High School, Syosset, New York and the New York University, Tisch School of the Arts. The roles in "Wicked" and "Rent" brought her fame and success. She was also seen in television series, for example "Hercules: The Animated Series", "Rescue Me" and "Kevin Hill". As a stage actress played in "The Wild Party", "Aida", "The Vagina Monologues" or "See What I Wanna See".

On January 11, 2003 she married Taye Diggs. In 2004 she was the winner of the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical for Elphaba in "Wicked". Her songs were used as soundtracks in movies like "The Other Sister", "Desperate Ho usewives", "Rent", "Genius and Friends" or "Disney's Enchanted Soundtrack".

Other awards won are Broadway.com Audience Award for Best Lead Actress in a Musical, Best Diva Performance and Best Onstage Pair. She is talented, beautiful and successful and many people admire her and the work she is doing so passionately.
