Gabriele Falloppio Latinized name of Gabriello Fallopio (1523-1562) was an Italian anatomist who discovered the Fallopian tubes, which in mammals carry eggs from the ovary to the uterus.

Short Biography:

He studied the anatomy of the brain, eyes, and reproductive organs, and gave the first accurate description of the inner ear.

Fallopius studied at Padua under Andreas Vesalius, and later taught there and at Ferrara and Pisa.
