Florentin Petre was born on January 15, 1976 in Bucharest, Romania. He is a football player.
Biography and Career :
He started to play football at an early age for Dinamo Bucharest but his professional career began on the 15th of October 1994 when he played his debut game in Liga 1(first Romanian league) against Universitatea Cluj and scored his first goal. His team won with 2-0. Except a half a season when he was borrowed to UTA Arad in 1995, between 1994-2005 Florentin Petre played only for Dinamo Bucharest and for a long period of time he was the leader of the team, the fans "the red dogs" called him: "dog until he die".
In his first seasons at Dinamo he didn't obtain too much but in 1999 when Cornel
Dinu one of Dynamo's legends, became the manager of the team, he started a very good period. In the season 1998-1999 they ended on the 2nd place and next season they won all could be won. They became Romanian champions and they won the Romanian Cup.
In 2000 he got ill of hepatitis C and he had to quit sportive life for almost 2 years.
He also had a bad accident in Danube's Delta which almost killed him: he touched a electrical wire and was electrocuted.
After this bad period of time he came back and was reborn from his own ash.
In 2002 and 2004 won the champion title with Dinamo and also was very close from the same performance in 2003 and 2005 having as coach Ioan Andone. Dinamo also won the Romanian Cup in 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005.
In all period at Dinamo he played 12 seasons in 268 games and scored 46 goals.
In 2006 after some controversies with the chiefs from Dinamo left his team and signed for Bulgarian team CSKA Sofia.
In the European Cups he played 28 games and scored 4 times. His best performance was in his last season at Dinamo when succeeded to qualify in the UEFA CUP's group in a group with Olympique Marseille, CSKA Moscow, Heerenven and Levski Sofia but didn't passed next although they defeated CSKA Moscow the ex winner of UEFA Cup and made 2-2 at Marseille.
He played for Romanian national team in 41 games and scored 4 times. His debut was on the 19th of August 1998 against Norway.
