Elena Ceausescu was born on January 6, 1919 in Targoviste, Romania. She was Nicolae Ceausescu's wife, the last communist president of Romania.
Biography and Career :
Her family was a very poor one. After four years in school, he moves with her brother in Bucharest. In the mid 30's she joined the Communist Party. Here she meat Nicolae Ceausescu in 1939. In 1945, two years after that, they got married.
Before Ceausescu was elected as General Secretary in PCR (the Romanian Communist Party) she had unimportant jobs, such as External Affaires Minister secretary. But along with her husband ascension she started to occupy important positions in the states affaires and in the leading of the Communist Part

Until 1969 she was ICHIM's director (the Chemical Research Institute). Since 1979 Elena Ceausescu's name is associated with "Office number 2 "(Cabinetul nr.2), becoming the second most important political person in the state.
She became doctor in Chemistry with a master's degree thesis written by other scientists and pleaded in very strange condition in December 1967, although her Chemistry knowledge were limited at the basic notions, as in elementary.
Elena Ceausescu passed away together with her husband on December 22, 1989. After the events in Timisoara led to the Romanian Revolution and even the Ceausescu couple tried to escape they were captured and executed.
