Debbie Gibson was born on August 31, 1970. She is an American singer and songwriter.
Debbie was born in Brooklyn, New York on 30th August 1970. She is popularly known with her stage name. She is the daughter of Joseph and Diane Gibson. When she was 5 she started to perform with her sisters. By the time she was 8 years old she started singing at the Metropolitan Opera House. She tried to contact many agents and producers for work for quite some time but was unsuccessful.
At the age of 16, she met Doug Breitbart and started working and producing at Atlantic Records to start her career as a songwriter and singer. She started to work at nightclubs and at the same time she recorded her first album in
1987 at the age of 16. Her first album was Out of the Blue which was a instant hit. Four of her songs gained a lot of popularity and hit the number 1 position in charts. Gibson was the youngest songwriter and singer ever to hit the number 1 position in the top charts. With her first album a hit she did many concerts throughout the world.
In 1988 and 1989 she started recording her second album. Her second album, Electric Youth was released in March, 1989 which was another hit and maintained it position in the top charts for a few weeks.
With huge success from the first two albums she released two more albums in 1990 and 1992. In 1995 she recorded another album with EMI and then she made her own company. Her sixth album also got good sales. She released her seventh album in 2001.
She also had a theater career with her first theater appearance in 1992 in Les Miserables.
She also did theater shows in the U.S. in 1997 and 1998. In 2002 she starred as Velma Kelly in the Chicago. She also did more shows in 2003 and 2004.
In 2005 she appeared in the playboy magazine. Later she appeared in many films and made guest appearances in various television shows.
