He first acted on screen, for a role; in the 1960 film Wild River. He has done a small role of sailor in Alfred Hitchcock's film, the psychological thriller Marnie in 1964. In 1972, he acted in 4 films: he has acted as the enemy and killer of John Wayne's character in The Cowboys, Silent Running; with Jack Nicholson in The King of Marvin Gardens; and also in Thumb Tripping.
