Bob May was an American actor.He was born on 4 September 1939, New York City, New York, USA. He died on 18 January 2009, inLancaster, California, USA due to congestive heart failure.
Bob was the grandson of comedian Chic Johnson.
Bob started out in show business at the very young age of two, when his grandfather had him appear in the Hellzapoppin comedy review, together with his partner Ole Olsen.
Bob later worked with the comedy team on live TV ("Fireball Fun-for-All", "All-Star Revue", "The Colgate Comedy Hour"). As a singer and dancer, he performed in some of Elvis Presley's early films.He also made several appearances in Jerry Lewis vehicles.
Bob has acted in several films and TV shows.These include Hardly Working (1980) as the role of Clown; TV show "The Time Tunnel" as Adol
f Hitler (1 episode, 1967); film The Patsy (1964) as Fireworks Boy and The New Interns (1964) (uncredited)
Bob has also worked as a stunt man in many films including Palm Springs Weekend (1963) and The Nutty Professor (1963)

Bob became famous for playing The Robot on the television series Lost in Space, which debuted in 1965 and ran until 1968. Bob appeared in all 83 episodes inside a prop costume built by Bob Stewart; the robot's voice was dubbed by Dick Tufeld,who was also the narrator of the series.
