Initially, Black Ice concentrated on composing music with various acoustic instruments and samples, and found sounds that they came up with by tweaking and twisting through a myriad of effects. Their music was initially full of instrumental and was often used in various art performances in and around the SF Bay Area at places like Cell Space in San Francisco
and Mungasoland in Oakland.
Aside from the haunting vocals of Ms. Correll, the Ice used a wide range of conventional and unconventional methods of producing music on the demo video including stuff like violins, piano, piano wire, wine glasses, a broken organ, samplers, synthesizers (broken and unbroken), water faucets, an assortment of drums, percussion, guitars and bass to come up with their weird music.
Their debut record that was called as A 10" EP published in Atakra Record was received with loads of critical acclaim. Black Ice since has come up with several compilations and their first full length album came out in Hungry Eye Records in May 2005.

We like Black Ice for their approach to music, given their weird styles and niche styles when it comes to Genres. They are one of the few gothic bands that have made an awfully quick dent into the stale inbred US gothic scene.
