Barry Diller was born on February 2, 1942 in Beverly Hills, California, USA. He is one of the people who created Fox Broadcasting Company and a media executive.
Biography and Career :
He attended the University of California, Los Angeles, but after only one semester he renounced and decided to start working at first at the mailroom of the William Morris Agency. In 1966 ABC hired him and after only three years he became vice president in charge of feature films and program development. Between 1974 and 1984 he worked as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Paramount Pictures Corporation. Some of the most successful television programs he produced are "Laverne & Shirley", "Taxi and Cheers" and some of the films are "Saturday Night Fever", "Grease", "Raiders of the Lost Ar
k", "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom", "Terms of Endearment" and "Beverly Hills Cop".
Since 1984 until 1992 he was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Fox, Inc. He is the owner of LendingTree.com and RealEstate.com, two web sites which provide mortgage and property listings for the residential real estate market.
On February 2, 2001 he married Diane von Furstenberg. He became a powerful and rich man who started his career as an unknown and became one of the most famous people in the industry.
