Her father is Russell Smith, who was a NFL player and her mother is Carol Smith, a former professional model. She is their only child.
When she was fifteen years old she decided to have a career just like her mother. Her first appearances were in local newspaper advertisements and at the Holiday Inn fashion shows. One year after she had started, she went to Paris and lived there for four years. Her fame came after she dyed her hair red. Many people said she looked as Rita Hayworth.
In 1993 and 1994 she appeared in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition and was elected Esquire's first Vargas Girl of the 1990s. Her popularity became even higher and she
soon was seen in famous magazines like Vogue, Elle, Cosmopolitan and Marie Claire.
Some of the brands she did commercials and advertisements for are L'Oreal, Buffalo Jeans, Camel, Kahlua, Volkswagen, Diesel, Triumph Lingerie, Wonderbra, Evian and Panama Jack. She modeled for top designers like Chanel and Jean Paul Gaultier and she was offered the chance to appear on the catwalk at many fashion shows.
Famous photographers like Ellen Von Unwerth, Walter Chin, Arthur Elgort and Marco Glaviano took her pictures. In March 1995 she was the cover girl of the Playboy magazine. She couldn't have missed the Victoria's Secret fashion shows.
