Amanda Perez was born in 1980 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She is an R&B singer and songwriter.
Biography and Career :
At the age of four she started singing and after she saw the Sombra Chicana USA, a group, she started thinking very seriously about music. In 1991 she formed the Sombra Chicana Chiquitos along some schoolmates. While junior high-school and high-school she was part of the choirs. Because her uncle had a recording studio and her brother and sister listened to R&B music she was inspired and registered five R&B demo songs. In 1999 she won the "Female Junior Vocalist of the Year" award at the Black Expo in Indianapolis.
She started to be popular and became a little star. Luck appeared when Mike Q., a fixture at Powerhouse Entertainment, was in her town and when askin
g about a local star she was the one recommended. After listening to her demo tape she came immediately after her. They signed a contract and her first album, "Where You At?" was released. She became famous and had success.
In 2003 and 2004 another two albums were released. She hopes that one day she can open her own recording studio so that she can offer the chance she had once had to other young talents. "Candy Kisses", one of her singles reached the 17 place on the Billboard Bubbling Under Chart.
