Amanda Marshall (full name Amanda Lindsay Marshall) was born on August 29, 1972 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She is a singer.
Biography and Career :
Her mother was born in Trinidad so she has African origins. She had attended the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto and studied music since she was a child. As a teenager she started performing in the Queen Street West bar. There she guitarist Jeff Healey and because he was impressed of her voice he decided to take her in his concerts. In 1991 she was offered the chance to release an album but decided to wait a few years until she was ready. After four years she signed a contract with Sony Records and the next year released her first album.
Between 1995 and 2006 she has released five albums and had a great success with her
singles not only in Canada. She has two songs, "Ride" and "Fall From Grace", which were featured in a movie, "The Replacements" and in a show, "Dawson's Creek". Her vice is strong. She sings pop-rock and is really talented.
She is ambitious and everything she has done has a great quality. In 2006 she released Greatest Hits album which includes one of her most famous and successful songs. She has eleven Juno Award nominations since 1996.
