The band 98 Degrees (or 98°) comes across as an All American and adult but not a manly band.

Career:

They are a group of four vocalists who are predominantly brothers by the names Nick and Drew Lachey, Justin Jeffre, and Jeff Timmons. The band was brought together by the dude Timmons in Los Angeles, California.

They are not like most bands. They came together completely independently but were later endorsed by a label company. They were not brought together by a label or a producer per se. They have global sales of over 10 million copies and have got 8 Top 40 singles in the USA.

Not accepting a number of names (including Just Us, Next Issue, and Verse Four), they zeroed in on "98 Degrees" because the band felt it gave the same message of an atmosphere of heat and roman

ce delved in their music.

Doing a number of jobs such as landscaping, club security officers, and delivering take-out food, the group refined its presentation and music, taking cues from groups such as Boyz II Men, Take 6, and Jodeci for direction. The band also made auditions in places like Los Angeles and slowly built up its network in the music industry. Luckily, the group's wait for a good manager and a recording contract did not take long at all, as they got an opportunity to perform in a radio broadcast of a Boys II Men concert. They had attended in the concert in the hope of passing a demo tape over to the band to see if it yielded a breakthrough.

In the year 2002, the band came out with a anthology album called The Collection, with the new single "Why (Are We Still Friends)". The single achieved a top 40 rating and at that juncture the group had sales of over 10 million copies and had 12 singles to its credit. The group decided to take a break to fulfill other obligations and ambitions.
